As a Senior Software Development Manager for IBM Z Software, you will lead complex, high-impact technical initiatives and guide multiple engineering teams toward the successful delivery of cloud-native and AI-enabled solutions. You will influence functional strategy, drive cross-team execution, and ensure timely, high-quality releases across the full software development lifecycle using strong technical judgment and disciplined agile practices.
You will shape a high-performing, innovative, and inclusive culture by mentoring senior engineers and emerging leaders, driving organizational skill-building, and ensuring equitable knowledge sharing across global teams. End-to-end talent management including hiring, career development, performance reviews, and succession planning will be your responsibility. You will foster an environment where experimentation, learning, and psychological safety enable breakthrough innovation.
Building strong partnerships with Product, Design, Support, and other cross-functional groups is essential, as you will co-create solutions aligned to client needs and business strategy. You will serve as a strategic connector to clients and stakeholders, applying deep understanding of their business and technology landscape to influence product direction. Proactively simplifying processes, removing obstacles, implementing new tools, and championing initiatives that enhance organizational agility and productivity are key expectations. Experience managing full stack teams (front end and back end) and familiarity with technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Golang, Python, TypeScript, and AI (LLMs, Agentics) is highly valued.
