Data Engineer - SAP ABAP Analytics

This Data Engineer role is focused on analyzing and reverse-engineering custom SAP ABAP programs to extract business logic, transformations, and dependencies for data migration and re-platforming initiatives. You will use ST05 SQL Traces to capture underlying database operations, identify standard and custom tables, BADIs, user exits, and enhancements affecting report outputs, and produce detailed field-level mapping documents translating ABAP logic to SAP base tables. The role involves collaborating with SAP functional consultants across MM, SD, and Planning modules to validate logic and clarify business rules, and creating technical specification documents that enable data engineers to rebuild logic outside of SAP. Experience with SAP MM inventory, SD substitution and condition techniques, Logistics Execution flows, and SAP debugging tools including SE11, SE38, SE80, and the ABAP Debugger is mandatory.
