Principal Software Maintenance Engineer (RHEL)
Red Hat is looking for a Principal Software Maintenance Engineer to support and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). In this role, you will investigate and resolve complex customer-reported issues, develop patches and fixes for the RHEL platform, and ensure the stability and reliability of the operating system across enterprise environments. You will work closely with development, QE, and support teams to diagnose root causes, backport upstream fixes, and deliver timely updates. As a principal-level engineer, you will mentor team members, lead troubleshooting efforts on escalated cases, and contribute to improving internal maintenance processes and tools. You will also engage with the upstream open-source community to ensure fixes benefit the broader Linux ecosystem.
