As a Solution Architect - Digital at Barclays, you will be responsible for designing and developing solutions as products that align with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling. You will conduct targeted design activities applying appropriate workload placement strategies while maximizing cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless computing, and containerization. Your designs will incorporate security principles like defense in depth and reduction of blast radius that meet the bank's resiliency expectations. You will balance risks and controls to deliver agreed business and technology value, adopt standardized solutions where appropriate, and feed into their ongoing evolution. You will also support operational teams with fault finding and performance issues, perform solution design impact assessments in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, and develop architecture inputs required to comply with the bank's governance processes including privacy, security, and records management. Strong stakeholder engagement, complex data analysis from multiple sources, and the ability to communicate and influence effectively are also core parts of this role.
