As a Vice President - Data & Records Business Partner at Barclays within Wholesale Onboarding and Group FCO, you will enable effective data governance, risk management, and compliance across the bank. You will serve as a key liaison between business units and the Data & Records Management (DRM) function, translating business needs into actionable strategies.
Your primary responsibilities include ensuring efficient implementation of DRM practices while maintaining compliance with Group Data & Record Management Standards (GDMS). You will set the agenda and drive the Business Unit/Function Data Council, covering various aspects of data and record management including driving Critical Data Element (CDE) identification related to functional changes in system applications, databases, new reports, and downstream requests.
The role demands strong expertise in data management, governance, data quality and controls, data lineage, and reference/metadata management. You will analyze and interpret data quality issues, develop proposed solutions, and manage stakeholders across geographies and cultures, including presenting to senior leaders and providing robust challenge where appropriate.
A clear understanding of effective control environments, enterprise risk management frameworks, operational risk frameworks, and BCBS 239 principles is essential. You should demonstrate a consultative yet pragmatic approach to solving issues with commercial acumen, focusing on areas of significance and value to the business. Proficiency in MS Office tools and comprehensive understanding of risk, governance, and control frameworks are expected.
