AI Lead Engineer
As an AI Lead Engineer at Barclays, you will drive innovation and excellence by delivering the technology stack using strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work on complex technical problems involving detailed analysis in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders, developing full-stack software applications at scale on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
A core focus of this role is hands-on experience with GenAI and Agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph/LangChain, CrewAI, Strands SDK, and Google ADK, along with familiarity with MCP and A2A protocols. You will work with LLM models, write efficient prompts that provide accurate context for LLM Agents, and develop and deploy Agentic AI solutions using cloud-native services like AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, or GCP Vertex AI.
You will develop APIs and integrate LLM models into software applications, with a strong understanding of AI implementation in software development and legacy code transformation. The role requires proficiency in Python, Java, or GoLang, along with knowledge of multiple front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular) and back-end languages. Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis), RESTful services, Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks is expected.
You should be able to work on system design from ideation through completion with limited supervision, communicate ideas and results clearly to stakeholders and leadership, and demonstrate excellent organizational and leadership skills. Experience in strategy and architecture roles with broad applicability across financial services is highly desirable.
