Data Platforms Lead
As a Data Platforms Lead at Barclays, you will spearhead the evolution of data infrastructure and deployment pipelines within the Markets Post Trade business area. You will build and maintain systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security.
Your responsibilities include designing and implementing data architectures and pipelines that enable reliable, complete, and consistent data transfer and processing. You will develop processing and analysis algorithms suited for complex data at scale and collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
You are expected to bring expertise in object-oriented and functional programming, with the ability to review code and guide engineers on best practices. You should have strong experience in system design for large-scale distributed systems, including API design (REST, GraphQL), messaging systems, and streaming platforms. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and test automation strategies is essential.
Strong coding experience in Java Spring Boot is required along with hands-on familiarity with IBM Sterling Product suite and GIT. You will oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management, and task prioritization to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget. Cloud-native architecture experience (AWS, GCP, Azure), engineering governance, tech debt management, and understanding of risk management and control frameworks are highly valued.
