Join Barclays as an AWS & Java Integration Engineer within the Customer Digital and Data business area. You will lead the evolution of infrastructure and deployment pipelines, building and managing robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions on AWS. The role focuses on developing enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot, designing event-driven and serverless architectures with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, and implementing infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation or Terraform.

You will integrate disparate systems and data sources using enterprise integration patterns including messaging systems, ETL pipelines, and RESTful/SOAP services. A key aspect of the role involves working with Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions on AWS, leveraging services such as Amazon Textract and Amazon Bedrock for automated document data extraction and AI-driven processing.

The position requires implementing robust security practices including OAuth, JWTs, encryption, and AWS IAM for secure service access. You will work with containers (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS), set up monitoring with CloudWatch or X-Ray, and ensure integrations are reliable through circuit breakers, retries, and comprehensive testing with JUnit.

Experience with AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock or SageMaker is highly valued, as is domain knowledge in financial services including banking systems, payment processing, and KYC document handling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless digital solutions in an Agile environment.
