Automation Test Engineer
Join Barclays as an Automation Test Engineer within the Markets Pre Trade team. You will drive innovation and excellence in the digital landscape by harnessing cutting-edge technology to ensure high-quality digital offerings. The role focuses on strong manual and Java-based automation testing in a complex environment, with responsibilities spanning the creation, maintenance, and execution of automated test frameworks.
You will work with bespoke developed automation solutions and leverage scripting languages such as Python, Perl, ksh, or bash for test automation tasks. Server-side testing experience is essential, including Unix log file analysis, debugging, messaging systems, and SQL. You will be involved in ensuring the reliability and quality of trading applications and related systems.
Highly valued additional skills include familiarity with continuous integration systems such as TeamCity, version control systems like GIT, build automation tools such as Maven, and project tracking tools like JIRA. Experience with front office trading applications, equities algorithm trading systems, or market connectivity systems within an investment banking context would be particularly beneficial.
You will partner with other functions and business areas, take responsibility for end results of operational processing and activities, and advise and influence decision-making within your area of expertise. The role involves managing risk and strengthening controls, as well as embedding new policies and procedures adopted for risk mitigation.
